Hic Sunt Dracones...
...Cape Cod to the Golden Gate; Muir Beach, Garden of the Gods, the Mediterranean, a full moon on the Overseas Highway, the Pont Alexandre III, standing on Point Fermin, the wind whooshing fog by my ears atop Twin Peaks...
...San Francisco, LA, SLO, ODAT...
One of his first books was, "I Thought People Like That Killed Themselves," a still timely text on gay suicide for youth.

I've been searching out the blogs to see what folks are saying about Rofes' death. Its such a shock and blow to me. He was such a visionary and such a believer. A believer in our inherent goodness. I edit White Crane, a gay culture magazine. I wanted to share a piece that Rofes wrote for us last Fall. We were honored to publish it in our pages and online in full. It's a stunning look at his beliefs and his work. Its accessible at http:www.whitecranejournal.com/rofes.asp
