I've grown up all over America since coming here as a child, from Cape Cod to California. Editor of BLK and Kuumba, author of the "BLK Guide to Southern California"; and a chapbook of poetry; published in the "The Big Gay Book", "Blood Whispers", "Louder Than Bombs", "The Road Before Us: 10 Black Gay Poets", "Sojourner: Black Gay Voices in the Age of AIDS", "Sundays at Seven", "Uncommon Heroes", and "Fighting Words: Personal Essays by Black Gay Men". For over a decade he was the literary curator at A Different Light, where he also curated the Gay Men's Writers Series. He organized "The Fire This Time: A Gay and Lesbian Response to the LA Riots," The West Hollywood Poetry Walk, the inaugural ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives literary series, HIV:LA, and BGM at Highways Performance Space. His play "Angelenos Anonymous" was performed on the anniversary of the riots. He has performed at the San Luis Obispo Poetry Festival and across the U.S. His art been exhibited around the country as well.
